Candle Making Courses

The courses are held in the SA37 postcode area of north Pembrokeshire, near to the coastal towns of Newport and Cardigan. The Pre-Course material includes a map on how to find us!

There is plenty of free car parking on-site, usually one car per student.

What to Expect During the Course?

  • Each course starts at 10.00am and finishes at 12.30pm.
  • Expert tuition in a professional, purpose designed dye/candle studio environment.
  • One Tutor and a maximum number of four students.
  • 2.5 hours of guided tuition.
  • Guided tuition on the basic principles and practice of candle making.
  • After the theory part, the practical hands-on bit where you can make 3 candles yourself.
  • The workshop includes all the necessary materials and equipment.

You will take away from the workshop 3 candles that you have personally made. You will also have a file of information covering what you have learnt during the day.

We encourage everyone to take their candles home with them on the day, but they will need to be kept upright and safe on the journey home to make sure they set correctly. On hotter days, candles do take longer to set.

We offer a Half-Day beginner course on How to make Container Candles and to be able to make these candles safely at home. An emphasis is placed on how to make and use candles safely at home.

During late November and early December, we offer Christmas Candle Making Courses. In these courses, all the fragrances are inspired by Christmas, for example, Christmas Tree, Christmas Spice, Cranberry Orange an Cinnamon, Nutcracker, Gingerbread and more...

The Course Tutor

Your tutor is a retired Chartered Accountant who has over 25 years' experience of candle making, both as a hobby and as a professional candle maker.
