We aim to place Sustainability at the core of what we do. We are a "net zero website", all our shipping transportation has net zero emissions, and we are almost a plastic free business. We plant one tree for every product purchased on this website in partnership with Tree Nation. There is always more we can and should do. This article describes our aims and current position on sustainability.

	The carbon emissions generated by our website are offset or reduced to zero by planting trees that we buy from Tree Nation. Our website emissions, less our carbon offsets equal a net zero emissions website.

  All shipping activities have net zero emissions.
  Working with Shopify Planet, all our shipping emissions are automatically calculated and are reduced to ZERO with appropriate carbon offsets. Our contributions fund cutting-edge carbon removal projects that have the potential to reverse climate change.

• Plastic Free Products - Plastic Freedom

  
  
  We believe that over 99% of our products do not contain any plastic at all. As a matter of policy, we do not offer plastic products for sale. Our packaging and our products are over 95% plastic free. We believe that we are close to "Plastic Freedom".

Other Renewable Projects

Powered by Renewable Energy

All electricity consumed by TirGlas since 2020 is from 100% renewable energy, from UK windfarms - powered supplied by Scottish Power. Firstly, let's say it up front - no carbon emissions are better than buying carbon offsets to cover whatever emissions a company has. Going 100% renewable reduces our carbon emissions and also reduces our need to buy offsets.

Teaming with Tree Nation

In 2021, we partnered with Tree Nation to play our part in global reforestation. As a result, we plant one tree for every product purchased - five purchases in one order is five trees planted! Visit the TirGlas Forest...

Sustainable Packaging and Void Fill

 

As a Brand and to support our 'net zero' website aims, TirGlas decided to use packaging and void fill that are sustainable and eco friendly.

• All box sizes are 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable.
• Box materials are sustainably sourced from renewable resources and can be widely and domestically recycled after use.
• The crash lock base design enables the postal box to be easily compressed into a flat configuration to fit comfortably and compactly into any home recycling bin.
• All void fill packaging materials are eco friendly, 100% recycled paper.
• Some leather products do have plastic protection. It is something we would like to avoid when alternatives are found.
