Where can I buy authentic Welsh blankets online?

Authentic Welsh Blankets: How to Spot the Real Thing

TirGlas is a Welsh-based registered company and is an online shop only - we do not have a 'bricks and mortar' shop. Nothings says 'Hiraeth' more than iconic Welsh blankets!! Our authentic Welsh blankets can be described as follows.

Welsh Blankets - Designed in Wales, woven in Wales and made with 100% new wool. Nothing says 'Hiraeth' more than iconic Welsh blankets.

How and Where are they Woven

  1. All blankets and throws are woven in mills in Wales.
  2. Our blankets are NOT handmade. They are woven on mechanical looms (in some case very old mechanical looms) that require significant human intervention. They are not mass-produced and are woven in limited numbers.
  3. They are woven with new British wool - not used or second hand wool.

Blanket Design with Traditional Welsh Patterns

  1. Many of our blankets are designed with the traditional Welsh patterns, in particular the Caernarfon Portcullis pattern. This is one of the most iconic Welsh blanket patterns
  2. They are woven with the Double Cloth weaving technique which produces fully reversible blankets.
  3. Double cloth weaving produces two layers of blankets woven together which are warm and cosy blankets.

Customer Service

  1. With a large variety of blankets and throws in traditional and more contemporary colours, all blankets are stocked in Wales and are available for immediate shipping.
  2. FREE UK shipping is available on all Welsh blankets. Courier services are a "Tracked and Signed For service".
  3. Easy returns, if required, that are extended during holiday and Christmas periods.
